CSS EDITED FROM HEROINE
Hi all! The following is to update you guys on NYCO plans for these two weeks.
This week, all of us should be receiving Xi1 Yang2 Gui1 Fan2's scores from Layting. If not, please get it from her. Please practise it together with your Sec 1 juniors as they'll be joining us for dazu from
this Friday onwards! *CHEERS!* Please tell the Sec 1s about it to get them mentally prepared. Also, from now on, they'll have to attend for CCA pracs TWICE a week, not once anymore.
Next week, practice will still be as per normal, just that the first hour (3-4pm) of thursday's xiaozu will be used for announcing Committee '08-'09 results. Everyone, inclusive of sec 1s, have to be present. Please be in M401 by 2.45pm. After that, everyone has to return for xiaozu prac.
On Friday, as all of us will be at PA (People's Association) for our National Day celebration,
THERE WILL BE NO DAZU!
On top of those events, im also thinking of holding Qing Gong Yan and Sec 4 farewell party (im sure you guys wanna have time to cry tgt and give presents to juniors/seniors right? HAHA!). The committee will plan for the following events and we will keep you updated once the details are confirmed. Have a nice day! :D
Sheila
YO PEOPLE!
TMR'S THE ANNUAL CROSSCOUNTRY! i've a crazy idea! shall we jog/walk as a cca!? :P (but this only applies to those involved in fun run!) hazel even suggested that we shall sing our dazu pieces and pace ourselves according to the tempo of the melodies. HAHA! Shall we shall we?!?
Sheila
I know everyone loves reading about their own concerts being praised! So I shall save everyone the trouble of googling and put everything here. (: Shall not leave the source though (lack of time, need to muggggg. Boo.) These are specific to the orchestra only so if you wanna read about your sectional items you can go google yourself. :P
all the orchestral and concertos were impressive as well in my opinion. this concert is leaving many other school orchestras very stressed about their own concerts. nevertheless $10 and a friday night well spent. :DWhoaNYCO concert was entirely captivating NYCO concert. Damn. Cool.Super pro can. Everybody was like godly. The stringed instrument players' fingers were so goddamn fast. Omg, i feel super noob at guitar and piano. Then percussion was even more godly. Their rhythm were holy accurate. It was demoralising. Lol.their music was marvellous yea~the actions all solid one.CO went for the NYCO concert rehearsal today, and all I can say is... "wow". Really. People who say that girls are weaker physically and thus cannot do things as well as guys should see that concert.
i feel so unworthy of everythinghearing nyco play, their concert is awesome.
NYCO'S CONCERT WAS COOL.
Went for NYCO concert. It was damn good.
today 8 comm members went for the nanyang co concert rehearsal. Their concert is tonight and all their tickets were sold out so we have to go for their rehearsal. Even though it was just a rehearsal, it is just simply great. The melody, the tempo, the movements, the emotion....I am sure all the comm members there today are really inspired :D
Today was really 大开眼界for all of us who went for the NYCO rehearsal!

Hi. If you see this msg, it means that it's already late. Please turn in now! Or else..... *evil grins*
Hello NYCO,Are you getting the jitters already? 5 days more. To examine the value of time:1 second - Ask a man who had just been stopped from jumping off a building.1 minute - Ask a man who had just been rescued while he was drowning and dying.1 hour - Ask a man who was waiting for his job interview.1 day - Ask a man who had his flight plans delayed.2 days - Ask the girl who had been busy with work her whole weekends.3 days - Ask the girl who was anxious preparing last-minute for examinations.4 days - Ask the girl who had been unhappy with the demise of a loved one.5 days - Ask the girl who is now counting down to NYCO Concert 2008.Now, I am not telling you to jump off a building, drown in your bathtub, apply for a toilet-cleaning job, fly off to Mauritius, slap your face with homework, dig your nose in the Biology textbook, or kill your Mathematics teacher just to experience the value of time. You don't have to, because you're the NYCO girl - Counting down to NYCO Concert 2008, but proud, elated and all the more confident! We can do it - because we can! Boleh, NYCO! Just remember to bring your cameras on that day to cam-whore with me. Will be glad to share my bald moments with everybody. :)Your Shuainess,Chewy-Fei!
NYCO JIAYOU <3this is so cool i dont think i've ever blogged here i think but surprisingly i still can -.- HAHA but anw 18JULY08 will be a wonderful date/day to remember again im sure :D

okay byebye see you all in haha
five days!
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
HELLO NYCO!
i think i've been sounding naggy nowadays, but still, I HAVE TO INFORM YOU GUYS ABOUT THIS. :D haha!
From now on, please be more aware of your surroundings. Please make sure all electricity is off-ed and the doors are closed, before you leave the CO room (esp when you're the last to leave). Same goes for classrooms, off all electricity, arrange the chairs and tables neatly, before you leave. We're not the only ones using these venues, so please spare a thought for the others who're also using the rooms. After every dazu pracs, make sure you dont leave anything lying on the floor, no matter if it belongs to u or not, just put it aside.
Uncle Jack has been constantly complaining to me abt us not switching off electricity and closing the CO room's back door. Mdm Oehlers has also fed back that sometimes the drama people have to touch our instrument because it's either lying in the middle of the room or caught in their way. So let us all make sure that we
switch off all electricity, keep our chairs and instruments properly, close both front and back doors or classrooms and CO room and prevent from staying back till very late!
Yes, concert is coming very soon. We're less than one week away frm concert. I can understand that all of us have mixed feelings about it (nervous, excited, emo, happy etc..). Well, just wanna say, DONT WORRY NYCO, JUST DO OUR BEST! WE CAN DO IT! :D On top of that, PLEASE START TO MUG! Dont be overblinded by concert! Academics are important as well! JIAYOU EVERYBODY!
Your president who's excited over concert,
Sheila
Hello people!
Im happy, cos NYCO Concert '08 has achieved full house! Arent you happy too? HAHA! But we still have to solve some ticketing matters.
Firstly, to make the collection of ticket payment easier, can everyone cooperate and bring the full amount (of the no. of tics you've ordered) on this coming TUESDAY, 8th Jul? We will collect at the end of dazu. I'll be making announcements regarding concert matters, so please be prepared to stay back ok!
Next, for those who have friends/family/relatives who wanna come badly but havent gotten tickets, Mrs Ee has allowed people to come and watch our rehearsal at SCH in the afternoon. I'll check out if they still have to pay for their admission and update you guys about it on Tuesday. Please only make them come if they're REALLY keen cos it's gonna be very informal.
And due to the overwhelming ticket sales, Anglican High School and Raffles Instituition couldnt get tickets for our concert. Lin Lao Shi would like to make the entire orchestras of both schools (if im not wrong) to come and watch our concert. In other words, they'll be coming to watch our rehearsal at SCH. So be mentally prepared to have audience during our rehearsal. (:
Okay, last but not least, I'd like to urge everyone to REALLY start giving 100% attention to pracs so as to ensure effective practices. I know it may be mean to say this, but please, stop chit-chatting about how blue the sky is and start giving in all your best in the subsequent practices. If you still have songs or parts tht u're not very confident with, PLEASE practise and at least make sure you dont hun4! Im sure none of us would like people to laugh at NYCO's standards right? As quoted from Xu Lao Shi, if you want to perform your 100%, you'll have to practise 120%, cos 20% will always be eaten up once you're on stage. Yup, so jiayou everybody! DO TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR INSTUMENTS AND YOURSELVES!! LET'S MAKE THIS OUR BEST EVER CONCERT!!! :D
Your beloved president,
Sheila
